With family or friends, the blue route will take you to the most beautiful places in our region without getting tired...

Do you want to enjoy a bucolic bike ride, on a sunny day or afternoon, while staying on clean and protected roads?

The blue route, road bike developed along the Vosges Canal and characterized as a greenway since 2007 will meet your expectations, especially if you want to cross our hilly region without great physical effort. Originally, this blue route was not intended for cyclists. It was supposed to allow the passage of VNF agents, but attracted by the beautiful landscapes it crosses, most cyclists used it anyway. Today, it is regularly restored and remains in good condition. It is mainly frequented by cyclists, walkers and anglers. Vehicles circulate there exceptionally for the maintenance of the banks and locks.

The V50 blue route invites you to travel 700 developed kilometers between Luxembourg and Lyon, 73 km of which cross the Vosges from north to south. It offers you beautiful views of the different landscapes, forests, fields or lakes, but also lovely discoveries of the classified historical monuments of our region. The path, perfectly maintained, is stable and smooth under the wheels. The cycle route is therefore suitable for all cyclists. It is accessible to families, including the youngest, in complete safety. Why not take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy a good picnic for lunch, thanks to the facilities offered on the banks of the canal? You can also take the time to visit nearby tourist sites, such as the Forts of Uxegney, the Fortress of Châtel, Lake Bouzey, or the Cité de l'Image, in Épinal, opposite the Port...

You will also have the possibility of exiting at the many locks that you will come across, to discover the nearby villages. As you will have understood, taking advantage of the cycle route along the Canal will take you to the most beautiful places in our region without getting tired, and you will thus be able to enjoy a pleasant moment of family-friendly change of scenery!
